Email Notifications

Is it possible to send out email notifications when you respond to a Help Ticket? For instance, I started a test ticket, then I updated the test ticket, how would I send that information to an email...

the SMTP server is set, but no email notifications are sent or I can not see the notifications when updating the TT. Now when I run the test under email settings, I receive the email test no problem.

I have the exact same problem. Did you get it resolved? I get the test email just fine but when tickets are submitted or closed, no email is sent. I do get the email to the admins for the initial...

Same here - test email is received fine and the initial admin email is received when a ticket is created, but when I reply to or close a ticket, no email is sent.

Same here - This worked just fine on 1.5 but now no emails are sent to users - A fix is desperately needed!

We have exactly the same problem - This seemed to work ok on version 1.5, but now - nothing. PLEASE HELP!!!!

I am running 1.6. I have tested several times and it is not working correctly. When I test the setup, it sends from my account, allen.mceuin@... But the comments/responses from the helpdesk@... are not...

This may or may not help you:Spiceworks seemed to insist on using TLS for me. As my SMTP server wasn't configured for TLS, Spiceworks' attempts at sending email failed. You might check to be sure...

That might make sense except in our case SW is sending the test email and the admin emails fine. It's the subsequent update emails that aren't going out.

:nod:In any case, it might be worth running something like Ethereal to observe the exchange (or lack thereof) between your SW machine and your mail server.

Has this been released we just downloaded 1.6 and still don't see the fix, also when the new fix does come out and when you install it does it delete all your help desk tickets, inventory etc...

check the thread linked to in my previous post - the fix is supposed to be released in the 1.6 patch that will apparently be released soon.
